What if I have a real emergency and truly need access?

Nuclear Mode has no emergency unlock, so anything you might genuinely need in a crisis must stay outside what you block. Block the specific addictive apps and sites, not tools you rely on for safety, work, health, or reaching people. This is the single most important thing to get right before you arm it.

What that means in practice

  • Never block your phone app, messages, maps, banking, or anything health-related.
  • Block the specific thing that is harming you, not a broad category that sweeps up essentials.
  • If you are unsure whether you will need something, leave it unblocked. You can always tighten next time.
